Questions we get a lot

How far in advance should I book?

Sooner than you think for weekends, and much sooner for November and December. If you have a date, tell us now. We would rather hold it while you decide than tell you it is gone.

What is included in the price?

The cart, all the product, the supplies, and the staff to serve it. Pricing is per person and quoted per event. California sales tax of 9.75% is not included and appears as a separate line on your invoice.

How do I hold my date?

A 50% deposit at signing puts your date on our calendar. The remaining balance is due 2 days before the event. If you’re booking closer to your date than that, we’ll work out a timeline that actually fits. Contracts and invoices go through HoneyBook, and we accept Zelle for offline payment.

What if my event is a year away?

If you are booking six months or more in advance, you do not have to put half down that early. A $200 date hold fee locks your date on our calendar. It is non-refundable, and it comes straight off your event total, so it is not an extra cost. Your 50% deposit is then due one month before the event, and the balance 2 weeks before.

This is the option most of our couples use. Wedding dates get claimed early, and there is no reason you should have to float half your catering cost for a year to hold one.

When do I have to finalize things?

Menu selections lock 7 days before your event. Final guest count is due 5 days before. Whatever the count is at that point is what gets billed, even if fewer people show up. If you’re booking on shorter notice than that, tell us when you reach out and we’ll work out a realistic timeline together rather than holding you to deadlines your event date can’t accommodate.

What happens if I have to cancel?

Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel before your cancellation window opens, 7 days before the event for standard bookings, up to 14 days for larger or highly customized events. Inside that window, cancellations are billed in full.

Can guests serve themselves?

No, and that is on purpose. Every cart is staffed and served by our team for the full window. It keeps the cart looking good, it keeps portions consistent, and it is better for food safety.

How much space does a cart need?

About 6 feet by 6 feet, on a flat surface. If you are tight on space or the load-in is complicated, tell us in advance and we will work it out.

Do you need a power outlet?

The Luxe Churro Cart, Churro Ice Cream Sundae, The Sundae Cart, and The Carnaval all need a standard outlet within reach. The Carnaval runs two machines, so tell us what outlets are available and how far they are from the cart. The Essentials, The Noir Edit, The Nopal Cup, Dolce & Salato, Holy Cannoli, and The Luxe Paleta Cart need no power at all. If your venue has no power, The Luxe Paleta Cart is the easiest yes. The Mocktail Social and The Luxe Mini Pancake Stack are still being finalized, power needs for those will be confirmed before they’re fully listed.

What time do you arrive?

60 to 90 minutes before service starts. Let us know if your venue has a specific load-in window.

Can the event run longer than planned?

Yes. Day-of extensions are $75 per 30-minute block, arranged on-site with our lead.

Do you accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions?

Tell us during menu selection and we will build around it. We offer gluten free crackers on both charcuterie carts, and we can leave nuts off entirely. For senior living and care facility events we adjust the menu as a standard practice. We have also sourced Kosher certified ice cream for a corporate client with Kosher employees, so if your team has a specific requirement, ask. We would rather solve it in advance than have someone standing at the cart with nothing they can eat.

Can a cart be the actual meal, not just snacks?

Sometimes, and it depends on the event. Savory builds like sliders, nachos, and street dogs are something we take on through Noir à la Cart rather than as a standard menu, because venue power and service window change what is possible. Tell us the date and what you have in mind and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it well.

Can I book two carts?

Yes, and it is often the better call for events running 3 hours or longer. A second cart carries an additional setup fee since it is a separate build with its own staffing.

Do you do anything besides food?

We are building it, and it is called Looski’s Corner. An Experience Host, interactive mixers, and carts that carry guestbooks, favors, flowers, and photo moments instead of food. Join the waitlist on the Experiences page to hear first as things come online.

Where do you serve?

Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Encino, Santa Clarita, Ventura, Santa Monica, West LA, Beverly Hills, Malibu, the South Bay, Pasadena, Glendale, and Downtown LA. Orange County by request.

Are you insured and permitted?

Yes. We carry general liability insurance and a current LA County public health permit, and we can provide a certificate of insurance for your venue.
